Tourists traveling from Venezuela into surrounding countries should know the following: In order to enter Brazil or Guyana from Venezuela, you must have an internationally certified yellow fever certificate. This certificate may come with slightly different titles or texts; however, all will be printed on a light yellow card. Keep in mind that in 2007 Venezuela had massive outbreaks of yellow fever, so this vaccine not only meets travel policy, but just may save your life. Any private clinic you find will have the vaccine, however they are not legally able to sign off on the international cards in Venezuela. Furthermore, the private clinics charge $60 USD for a vaccine that is not internationally recognized. This can only be properly accomplished at a Venezuelan government clinic. It’s also in your interest, because at government clinics there is absolutely no cost.
At the address below you can get your free yellow fever vaccination Monday through Friday from 9am to 4pm. Get there before 2pm to receive your certificate the same day, as the shift supervisor is required to sign each certificate. Best of luck.
