The 12 Most Violent Cities In The World 2015

1/3 of global homicides take place in Latin America, even though the region has less then 10% of the world’s population according to UN statistics. Political corruption, poverty, narco-trafficking, and gang violence contribute to the disproportionate numbers. This study and statistics were put together by the Mexico’s Citizens’ Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice. This list does not include cities below 300k populations, nor deaths in warzones – some cities may not be represented on the list due to these factors. Note: The US cities that cracked the top 50 were St. Louis #19, Detroit #22, New Orleans at #28, and Baltimore at #40.

Rank City Homicides per 100,000 Residents
1 San Pedro Sula, Honduras 171.20 homicides per 100,000 residents
2 Caracas, Venezuela 115.98 homicides per 100,000 residents
3 Acapulco, Mexico 104.16 homicides per 100,000 residents
4 João Pessoa, Brazil 79.41 homicides per 100,000 residents

  1. Are you sure you want to live in Cali? How are things going with Diana? You didn’t answer me as to if your Mom is back there.
